If you think every wedding story starts with a slow-motion gaze across a crowded room, meet Loryn and Ryan. Their story started at church where, according to Loryn, Ryan was "smitten" and basically had no choice but to take her out. (We appreciate a man who knows a good thing when he sees it!)
Their wedding at A Simple Affair was a masterclass in how to keep it real, keep it funny, and—most importantly—keep the budget intact.
The Proposal: A Pizza-Powered "Yes"
Every bride-to-be has that "internal radar" for a proposal. Loryn’s radar was actually pinging a week early, so by the time the actual moment rolled around, she’d been kept on her toes.
The setting? A nostalgic spot with a lot of history, a sweet note, and the ultimate romantic gesture: Pizza. > "We went to a spot we had had a big conversation about our relationship. Had the best picnic including pizza and then he gave me the sweetest note and asked the question."
The Connection: More Than Just Blue Eyes
When asked what they love most about each other, Loryn didn't miss a beat. While she claims he loves her for her "body" and she loves his "eyes" (just kidding... mostly), the truth is a bit more sentimental.
"I love how he can make me smile," Loryn says. "I love how hard-working he is and how much he cares for the people around him."
Why A Simple Affair? (No "Crazy Fees" Allowed)
Finding a venue in Las Vegas that doesn't charge you a "breathing tax" is harder than it looks. Loryn and Ryan had a secret weapon: a literal army of talented family members. They had the flowers, the food, the DJ, and the photography covered—they just needed a place that would actually let them use them.
"We chose A Simple Affair because we had so many talented family members... but couldn’t find a space that would allow our friends and family to use their talents without some crazy fee that didn’t fit the budget."
They took our "empty shell" and filled it with blues, whites, and browns to create a vibe Loryn describes as "Something... rustic? Rustic elegant? Not really sure." (Whatever it was, it looked incredible!)
Highlights: The Party of the Century
The "must-haves" for this duo were simple: Good food and a great photographer. Once those were locked in, it was time to dance. Because of the open layout at A Simple Affair, the dance floor became the heart of the night.
