There is something truly special about a wedding that feels like home. For Melissa and Donald, their November 15th nuptials were the epitome of what we love most at A Simple Affair: a day focused entirely on the couple, ditching the distractions of the Strip for a meaningful, intimate Las Vegas wedding experience.
The Spark: An Extraordinary Match
While their story began with a digital match, it only took one week for Melissa and Donald to realize they had found something extraordinary. From that first date, they’ve been inseparable, proving that the best connections happen exactly when you’re ready for them.
When it came time to propose, Donald originally planned a grand gesture at the Marvel Station exhibit. However, sometimes life has a better plan. Moving the timeline up by a day, Donald chose a moment that was perfectly "them"—proposing right in their apartment with their dog by his side. It wasn’t about the bright lights of the city; it was about the life they were building together.
The Venue: A Hidden Gem Off the Strip
When Melissa and Donald began searching for a Las Vegas wedding venue, they knew exactly what they didn't want. They wanted to avoid the chaos of the casinos, the formality of a country club, and the unpredictability of outdoor weather.
"We wanted a place that worked with our budget and a place that felt like home," Melissa shared. "We loved how rustic it felt and the energy around. A Simple Affair was the perfect location because we were able to do the ceremony, the pictures, and the reception all in one location."
The couple leaned into a stunning color palette of Plum, Dusty Blue, and Lilac, which popped beautifully against our venue's warm wood accents and industrial-chic backdrop.

The Details: A Superhero Connection
The day was filled with deeply personal touches. As fans of the Marvel Universe, Donald and his groomsmen wore character pins (with Donald sporting Captain America’s shield), while Melissa tucked a Captain Marvel pin into her dress.

Melissa also honored family tradition with her "something old"—a beautiful wedding veil that belonged to her cousin from 17 years ago. To keep the vibe fun and comfortable, she traded heels for glitter sneakers gifted by her sister, perfect for dancing the night away.
Perhaps most impressive? Melissa's DIY spirit! She hand-crafted her own bouquet as well as the florals for the bridal party and her mother-in-law.

The Highlights: Tacos, Tequila, and Tears
The day kicked off with an emotional First Look, a quiet moment for the couple to breathe and see each other before the ceremony. Once the "I Do's" were official, the party shifted into high gear in our versatile reception space.
If there is one thing this couple knows, it's how to host! The menu was a massive hit, featuring guest-favorite tacos from Tacos Blvd LV. Paired with signature margaritas and a decadent dessert table, the energy was electric. Between the food and the beats dropped by DJ Tony of Pure Productions, the dance floor stayed packed all night.

Advice from the Bride
Reflecting on her journey, Melissa offers a bit of wisdom for those currently planning their own Vegas nuptials:
"Things will happen the week before the wedding and the day of, but remember to smile—it’s about the bride and groom. The others can wait. It’s your moment and time to shine."
Looking back on the day, Melissa says it was everything they had hoped for and more: "It was a beautiful wedding. Guests still talk about it. A dream come true."
Melissa and Donald, thank you for choosing A Simple Affair Las Vegas for your big day. It was an honor to host your all-in-one wedding celebration!
