Finding the person you want to spend the rest of your life with is all about the right moment. For Tiesha, that perfect timing came exactly when it was supposed to.
"I was close to giving up," she shares, "and at the right time, God brought me the man of my dreams!"
Tiesha and DeCente’s love story is rooted in faith, a shared passion for ministry, a surprise trip to Denmark, and a spectacular nod to Tiesha's absolute favorite hobby: LEGO. It was an honor to host their reception at our Las Vegas wedding venue, and their nature-inspired day is a beautiful reminder of how everything falls into place beautifully when you least expect it.
A Lobby Hello Worth the Wait
Though they both graduated from the same Bible college in Oklahoma years apart, their paths didn't cross until Tiesha returned for an annual conference. She has a long-standing tradition of meeting her best friend in the lobby right before the first service.
That year, DeCente happened to be volunteering right at the front of the lobby.
After a quick introduction, the two hit it off instantly. DeCente asked if "Ty" was short for anything, and learning it was "Tiesha"—a name similar to his own sister's—opened the door to a much longer conversation. Sensing a spark, Tiesha asked her friend to get the scoop on him. A coffee date was booked for the day she flew home, kicking off a beautiful long-distance relationship that would change everything.
A Proposal Built Brick by Brick
After a brief pause in their relationship, the couple reunited with a clear vision for their future. They even went ring shopping, so Tiesha knew a proposal was on the horizon—she just didn't know where or when.
The answer turned out to be Billund, Denmark—the official home of LEGO.
During a family trip to Germany, DeCente decided last-minute to join Tiesha. Knowing how much she loved LEGO, they planned a day trip to The LEGO House. Little did Tiesha know, DeCente had been plotting with her friends. As they walked out of the building, her friends were standing outside holding a custom "Will You Marry Me?" sign built entirely out of LEGO bricks.
When Tiesha turned around, DeCente was on one knee holding both her grandmother’s ring and the ring they had picked out together. It was a flawless surprise.
Bringing a Barn Aesthetic to the Desert
Tiesha’s heart had actually been set on celebrating here since she helped out with a wedding in our space back when we first opened in 2018. If you are looking for a unique, modern rustic wedding venue in Las Vegas, Tiesha felt the exact same way when she first stepped inside.
"I love the rustic, modern look of the facility. The wood walls, wood tables, and hanging string lights sold me! It’s a very unique place for Las Vegas. I have dreamed of having a reception in a barn, and that was the closest look to it for me."
To balance that aesthetic, the couple brought the outdoors inside with a serene, nature-inspired color palette of green, taupe, and champagne. They layered our industrial event space with meaningful DIY touches crafted by Tiesha, her mom, and her sisters, ensuring every single guest felt extra special.
And because it wouldn't be their wedding without a playful twist, Tiesha walked down the aisle with custom LEGO flowers woven right into her bridal bouquet.
Locking Eyes in a Crowded Room
When asked about the most memorable moment of the day, Tiesha points right to the ceremony: "Walking down the aisle and seeing my future husband in a room full of the people we love."
Once the party shifted to the reception, the energy was unmatched. The absolute hit of the night was a custom signature coffee drink that perfectly blended their two personalities. Guests also treated themselves to incredible sweets from local Las Vegas favorite @rollingindoughbakerylv.
The entire magical day was captured beautifully by Las Vegas wedding photographer @haylie_noel, whom Tiesha notes was an absolute "must-have" from day one.
Keeping Stress Low on the Big Day
Tiesha’s advice is pure gold for keeping your stress levels low while planning a wedding:
"Make sure you have a good crew of people to take care of things during the wedding day, so you’re not the one having to put out all of the fires. Then you can just enjoy the day!"
